I need to give a secondary prize, too, to ~JubjubtheJabberwocky. Nanites, Silxie, and Niǔ are all fantastic names. With their permission I'd like to use them at a later date. (I'll PM you as well!)

[2] As promised, I've written a few things about the species.

They're relatively small, just big enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Their scales are not as brittle as a typical moth's, meaning you can handle them a little more freely. Food is a tricky subject, as they're inclined to nibble on just about everything from honey to cement blocks. Of course, they don't cause too much damage and can be trained to leave objects alone. Inside their very tiny mouth is a tube shaped tongue with three spikes on it, used for scraping hard food surfaces. Their 'cheeks' are lined with small teeth like structures for breaking down their food further.
